Na Hale O Makena is the newest of the Makena condos, marked as a New Development in 2004. It is a luxury condo complex with only 40 units in six 3- and 4-story buildings. Sales in Na Hale O Makena are sparse compared to the general spike in Makena and Wailea Real Estate. Unlike Polo Beach Club and Makena Surf, this Makena Condo does NOT allow for vacation rentals.
Na Hale O Makena has only 2 units on each floor. Ground and mid-floor units have 3 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms. Top floor units are 2 story units, each with an additional bedroom and bathroom. There are a few mid-floor units with only 2 bedrooms. Living square feet are measured from about 2100 to just over 3000 square feet for the 2-story units. Each unit has a carport and the complex is gated with a live-in caretaker on site.
Today’s Maui photo shows Na Hale O Makena clearly set back from the Pacific ocean. Views are not the best, but the superior construction, the amenities, the layout and the size of the units and the complex over all, are making Na Hale O Makena one of my favorite South Maui condos. It is centrally located, yet extremely quiet and private. I love it here!
And the sales in Na Hale O Makena? Only 1 unit sold in 2006, 3 units sold in 2007 and in 2008 respectively. No sale was recorded in 2009. 3 in 2010 and another 3 in 2011. 2012 shows one closed sale of a unit that had never been listed prior to the sale. There are an average of 3 to 5 units on the market.
